We are living in “Amrit Kaal” ushered in by Narendra Modi, who is likely to be sworn in as prime minister for a third straight term in June this year. This golden age also coincides with another term made popular by the prime minister and his supporters—“Naya Bharat”, a new India, made perhaps with the ashes of the old one that contain the 74-year-old legacy of governments past. They also include the remains of the historic Janata Party (supported by the Jan Sangh) government of 1977, a
