In 2021, a small-budget film shot mostly indoors, featuring mostly theatre actors, was made in Malayalam. Pitched to various OTT platforms including Amazon and Netflix, it was rejected by all of them, mainly because it touched on the controversial Sabarimala case regarding women being allowed to climb the hill.
