Dr. Soumya Swaminathan
is a slight woman with a shock of wavy white hair and a manner as easy with a
smile as it is with interrogation. At the helm of all medical research in the
country, she’s also the head of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
and the Department of Health Research in the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare.
