A long time ago, in a far-flung village in a valley of Ladakh, lived three sisters and a bird, whom they fondly called, nono echu... Tall snow-capped mountains surrounded the valley. The few summer months were pure heaven for the few families living in the village, as fields of barley, wheat and peas promised them enough to fill their granaries, while lush fields of alfalfa ensured fodder for their livestock.
